Laurie Goldsmith has been working as an award-winning performing songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and well-known freelance musician in the Boston area for over thirty years. She has resided in central Vermont full time since 2020.
Laurie first began as a folk musician in the Boston songwriter scene in the late 80's, recording 3 albums of original material “Laurie Goldsmith” ©1989, “After the Storm” ©1990, “Live and Kickin'” ©1993, and receiving regular airplay and interviews on local radio stations and performances through the New England area. From there she shifted to performing and touring with several Boston area groups on electric guitar and backup vocals. In 2014, Laurie returned to her first love of writing, recording and performing, and released 7 albums of original material including: “Going Through the Motions” ©2015, “The World of Weather” ©2017, “Mountains” ©2018, “More Stories From The Brook” ©2020, “Snow” ©2022, “Home Again” ©2023, and “Seven” ©2025. All of these albums are now available here as a free digital downloads as well as on all major listening platforms. Her musical style reflects her love of many genres including folk, blues, jazz, rock, roots reggae, country, hip-hop and pop.
Laurie opened her recording studio “Lucky Dog Studios” in 2020 has been recording her own albums and doing all of her own instrumentation except where noted. The Laurie Goldsmith Project performs for both private and public performances and includes originals and well known covers to fit any occasion. She can perform as a soloist, in a duet with her upright bass player or with a more complete band including a drummer and sometimes a soloist such as a fiddler or sax player.
